"Blood of the Earth"

Blood of the Earth

The blood of the earth is thick and its black.
It flows through veins straight down through a crack.
A hole in the surface punctures her back.
She aches and she groans.
She spews and she spits.
Liquid gold heated in pits,
Steaming the waters in lakes,
A warm bath for her people to take.
Red hot heat oozes out of her mouth,
Exploding and revealing the inside of herself.
Take her seriously whenever she cries.
I don't want to be here if she ever dies.
Deep down in her heart she feels the strain
Of those who take her life's blood in vain.
A victim of greed is our mother, the earth.
We consume her gifts and bleed her dry,
Burning her blood 'til there is no more sky.
Please, mother, don't die.
